Environmental Impact Assessment

2007_1128wakra0065

Environmental Impact Assessments (EIAs) are designed to identify possible impacts on natural and cultural heritage sites caused by proposed development. Certain planning stages and international protocols and conventions require these assessments and remediation prior to proposed future works programmes.

Desk-based assessments (DBAs) are commissioned as part of an EIA during the early stages of the planning process or as part of international protocols.

Using both published and unpublished literature, previous site reports and plans, maps and topographic surveys, DBAs can stand-alone or integrated into larger interdisciplinary reports.
